Lights, camera, Instagram!
After having broken out as the next best thing, the app inadvertently revolutionized people's lives in ways the developers could not have even imagined. Recent Instagram statistics show an increase of 200 percent. Over 800 million users worldwide now use Instagram and have found somewhat of a second life on the platform.
Update after update, Instagram has become better. But now, we see a rise in an emerging trend, something that is even better, on the social media platform. People put Instagram captions to good use and made their posts relevant, much more relatable to their audience. This captioning has evolved into what people are now calling "microblogging."
Sounds different, doesn't it?
01. It is Microblogging.
With work, school, college, and whatnot, you must have seen a decline in your blogging consistency. People have usually experienced this. Not everyone can dedicate enough time to blogging and their blogs eventually die, becoming nothing but some URL people used to visit. Revitalizing your blog's image through its Instagram extension, by microblogging to be precise, just might help gain it a second look. Maybe even more with time.
All you have to do is write a caption. Which is ridiculously easy and five-minute thing.
02. People Do Not Read Much.
There are people who read lengthy blog posts. But some don't even read their textbooks. Your not-too-long-yet-not-too-short microblogs will be a much-needed change. If you are good, you will see an effective-immediate rise in your impressions. Make sure you have done proper hashtag research. Don't forget to add hashtags at the end of each of your captions/microblogs.
To fool people into reading a lengthy caption, divide your content with numbered headings. Just like you would on a regular blog.
03. Instagram Is the New Facebook.
People love to talk about themselves. It isn't a bad thing, really. Which is why Instagram is turning into the new Facebook. You will see people populating their Instagram feed as much as they will their Facebook or Twitter. This is where you come in. You already have a platform with all the audience you can possibly imagine. It is your job to get them to read what you actually write.
04. Say NO to SEO.
The thing with Instagram is its hashtags. You don't have to do in-depth SEO on your content. One unique and most-seen hashtag will get broadcast your content to a lot of people. Hashtags can now be followed, too. If you use a hashtag people are following, they will be notified of your post. This is way better than competing for SEO rankings and getting followers the hard way. Instagram actually wants to help you.
05. It Is Good for Small Scale Businesses.
If you're running a business and do not have enough time to invest in a website or a Facebook page, run your microblog from Instagram. Not only will it be easy for you to handle but the pictures that you will post, paired up with genuine hashtags, will bring in the right kind of customers! It is perfect for startups that are target oriented and do not wish to expand.
As far as microblogs go, this will be all. Happy Instagramming!
