Gift Ideas for This Eid You've Probably Not Tried Before.
12:18:00 AM
Eid's right around the corner and if you're one of those gift-giving types, you're probably pondering over this one thing in particular: What, oh what shall I gift my friends?
Coming up with the perfect gift for your target is not easy. And how will you ever know whether they like it or not? They'll surely never say it to your face if they don't (they're not supposed to—probably because you might hit them). Has that ever happened? I wouldn't know. It isn't normal to show ingratitude at being given a gift. You plaster smiles on your face and you take it, forever grateful.
A bit research, though, into your target and what they like might come in hand. The thought behind always counts, but think of how special you might make it for them if you end up gifting them the right kind of gift?
I am no expert, but I'm guessing if I haven't tried these before, chances are that you haven't either (you can say "no" in the comments).
Here's one. A bit archaic, mixtapes were all the rage back when, well, it was there time. Cassettes aren't in use anymore. And making a mixtape might well be beyond the infinite capacities of us millennials (some of you might know how to do this—but I bet you're not around anymore). How about CDs, then? A CD Mix? I know, they're extinct, too, but are the most easily available. And presentation matters, friends. Empty CDs are all-too-available!
You'll have to be super-selective when jotting down songs to put on this CD, though. Make sure the songs you choose are... well, something the recipient actually might like or does already.
You'll find instructions on how to make a CD mix/mixtape here.
Go all artsy with the packaging!
Here's two. You've probably already done a photo album. But have you tried making a doodled-at photo album before?
Pictures are awesome; they remind you of times you forget, in the most exact of ways. Duh. Swift through your phone, or your keepsakes if you still keep pictures in print, and pick the best ones. And this is where the fun starts. Go crazy doodling all over it! Mustaches, horns, ears, hats—whatever you please!
I would go for a classical, paste-pictures-in-a-bought-journal approach. But you should check this article on WikiHow I came across.
Do keep a check, though, on the intensity of the doodles; you are aiming to make someone's Eid special not terrible.
If you're not one to do art projects, you might be more comfortable with the regular, then. Everybody's done regular.
Some of them, let's say, can be:
1. Tickets to a movie.
2. A night out (more of an outing).
3. Dinner (the same).
4. Perfume bottles.
5. Chocolates.
6. A box full of junk food!
7. A barbecue plan (again, more of an outing.)
Get that head of yours working, then will you? A very happy Eid to you—you who've accidentally stumbled upon this post by some horrible, horrible accident—in advance! And happy gift-giving (just made that term up).
