The Skies Up Above.

It's like escaping into another dimension. Where there are no sorrows, no pain. No regrets. No sadness. You feel like an aerial being, your wings spread wide; lifting you up into the air. Then you become one with the flying birds, the clouds, the mesmerizing colors of the sunset.

You become free.

Mounting the stairs to the terrace, I am filled with this intense feeling of want. I want to marvel at the skies up above, want my eyes to see each and every hue of the colors that the setting sun disperses, the paintings it sets into motion.

A friend of mine once argued with me that the colors that appear up above, are always the same every day. Only I knew that he was wrong. While the rest of our friends chose to stay quiet, I answered him. Told him that he was wrong.

How could he possibly know about the colors? They're different, every day.

Today, what I saw was, of course, completely new. The silhouette of the sun had turned the blue and white of the clouds into a fiery pink and red, giving them the appearance of ferocious flames. It looked like a volcano, lava erupting from inside and dispersing everywhere. The lava then looked like it had turned into a tornado, one that had paused abruptly during one of its sinuous twists. The paused flames then shone even more brightly.

As the sun disappeared eventually, so did the colors, their bright fading away and leaving nothing but plain, dark blue behind, with traces of decadent pink in their midst.

You never know what is waiting for you. All you have to do is look up to find out.

Looking up at the sunsets is a wonderful experience, free of cost and...amazing.
