Honor Killings.
3:33:00 PMThe illiteracy that encompasses some selected areas of our land has been undergoing an unrestricted increase. I wasn't at all alarmed when I yet again came across an honor-killing tragedy. This time, the father thought of the daughter of his that he killed as his most obedient.
Why kill her, then?
Whether the daughters are romantically involved with strangers or not, all these men need is wild conjecture, rumor, and whispers. As soon as they receive any of these, or have themselves seen with their own eyes what their daughters are doing, they adhere to murdering them.
The case that I read today in the newspaper is not the first. And most certainly won't be the last.
What we need is change.
We need to make these less fortunate men, still gripped by the norms of their ancient lives, see that what they think is the right action, isn't. There are other ways of resolving the issues that their adventurous daughters give rise to. Other sane ways.
What did killing got him? His daughter died and so did the man she was dating. Multiple bullet wounds brought about their unnecessary deaths. And he is now being dealt with by legal authorities.
Are there going to be more "honor killings"?
Will this tradition of murder end?
The modern age doesn't seem to be having the needed influence on the thinking of these people.
Are their daughters doomed for eternity for just a little bit of rebellion? A little bit of exploration?
Will these people see the light that they have been denying entry in their dark lives?
What will happen?
